Kelli Knapp is the current CCSAP Board Chair. Kelli has over 18 years experience in the Substance Abuse Prevention field. She is currently the Vice President of Community Prevention Services, Inc., which provides substance abuse prevention services through the SAPTBG Block grant to Onslow and Carteret counties. Kelli has a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, A Masters Degree in Human Services Counseling, and is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA), A Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate (LCASA) and a Certified Substance Abuse Prevention Consultant (CSAPC).
Kelli is very passionate about educating our citizens about the consequences of substance abuse and feels the work CCSAP does is vital to the communities we serve. Kelli believes that CCSAP is in a unique position to help strengthen substance abuse prevention efforts in our 5 counties and looks to each county’s substance abuse prevention task force to lead the prevention efforts and the efforts of CCSAP to raise awareness of the value of preventing substance abuse issues.
Kelli is married to Onslow County Commissioner Robin Knapp, and has 2 daughters and 1 grandson. Kelli wants CCSAP to continue its focus on underage drinking and prescription drug misuse and abuse, and feels CCSAP may need to also begin to focus on electronic cigarettes and other vaping products, as these products are starting to become enticing to youth and problems are starting to be seen in our communities as a result of this.
